Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Apheresis Registered Nurse to join our team at Carter BloodCare. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing cellular therapy collections and therapeutic apheresis procedures for our clients in the Dallas/ Fort Worth area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently perform critical tasks in assessing, initiating, monitoring, and completing apheresis treatments in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Provide safe and effective patient care in compliance with company and contracted hospital and research project standards, policies, and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
  • Maintain proficiency in all treatment modalities, including therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE), red blood cell exchange (RBCX), white blood cell and platelet depletion, extracorporeal photopheresis (ECP), and cellular therapy collections (CTC).
  • Strong phlebotomy skills and competency in care and the accessing of central venous catheters, implantable ports, and fistulas are essential.
  • Compliance with cGMPs in all aspects of procedures, patient care, equipment maintenance, and documentation is crucial.
  • Ability to work independently in various care settings, including intensive care units, emergency departments, inpatient units, outpatient clinics, and donor centers.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with others are essential.
  • Ability to assess and critically think related to the care of critically ill patients and determine if patients/donors can safely undergo and continue apheresis treatments.
  • Qualifications include a registered nurse (RN) with active licensure in the State of Texas, current American Heart Association accredited BLS Provider Certification, and a minimum of 3 years of nursing experience in a hospital setting, oncology unit, intensive care unit, or dialysis center.
  • Research and/or pediatric experience, as well as apheresis experience, are preferred.
  • Strong skills and knowledge in customer service, interpersonal communication, assessment, and critical thinking are required.

Please note that this position is subject to overtime and on-call, as required by Carter BloodCare. Regular full-time attendance is required during normal working hours.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with active licensure in the State of Texas
  • Current American Heart Association accredited BLS Provider Certification
  • Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience in a hospital setting, oncology unit, intensive care unit, or dialysis center
  • Research and/or pediatric experience, as well as apheresis experience, preferred
