Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Patient Financial Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and administering patient financial services functions, including accounts receivable posting, customer service, billing third-party follow-up, credit balance, and Medicare report preparation.

Responsibilities
  • Initiate outgoing calls to insurance payers, patients, clients, and other relevant parties to ensure all calls are returned within 48 hours
  • Determine account balances in patient accounts and interface with front office staff on inactive charts
  • Work collaboratively with Billing Specialists on detailed insurance issues and setup payment plans
  • Process certified patient termination letters and call on overdue statements prior to collections
  • Troubleshoot problems, assist and train staff members, and suggest process improvements
Requirements
  • High School degree or equivalent required; minimum one year of experience in patient accounting or a similar role preferred
  • Demonstrated customer service skills with a focus on healthcare setting experience
  • Experience with electronic health records, preferably AMD, and medical terminology, insurance, HMO, managed care, and medical coding requirements
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word) and technical aptitude to work in open systems environments
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to build good working relationships with staff at all levels

Estimated salary: $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
