The Maintenance and Housekeeping Manager is a pivotal role at StoryPoint, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of maintenance and housekeeping personnel. This position requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a keen eye for detail.
About the Role
This Maintenance and Facilities Operations Director will be responsible for supervising maintenance and housekeeping staff, determining workloads and schedules, evaluating staff performance, and making hiring or termination recommendations. They will also manage activities of all maintenance and housekeeping departments, including cost management, methods, and staffing.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule Management: Develop and implement efficient schedules to ensure timely completion of tasks and projects.
- Staff Supervision: Lead, motivate, and evaluate the performance of maintenance and housekeeping staff.
- Budgeting and Cost Control: Manage budgets, track expenses, and implement cost-saving measures to maintain efficiency.
- Preventative Maintenance: Plan, coordinate, and execute preventative maintenance procedures to minimize equipment downtime and extend its lifespan.
- Customer Service: Respond to customer concerns, resolve issues promptly, and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement, develop strategies to address them, and implement changes to enhance overall operations.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in a related field (e.g., facilities management, construction management) preferred.
- Experience: At least 3 years of experience in maintenance and housekeeping management, preferably in a senior living or multi-family residential setting.
- Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team; proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software relevant to the role.
- Licensure/Certification: Valid driver's license required; certifications in facilities management or related fields a plus.

The estimated annual salary for this position is $65,000-$85,000, depending on qualifications and experience.

This role involves working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with frequent interactions with colleagues, customers, and vendors. The employee must be able to lift up to 25 pounds, stand for long periods, and wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
