At Magnet Medical, we are seeking an experienced MRI Technologist to join our team. As a diagnostic imaging specialist, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality images for accurate diagnoses and effective treatments.

About the Role:

We are looking for a skilled MRI Technologist to operate our state-of-the-art MRI machines. Your primary responsibility will be to position patients correctly, ensure safety protocols are followed, maintain equipment, and provide exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pre-Procedure Preparation:
    • Review patient medical history, doctor's orders, and previous imaging studies to ensure appropriate procedures are conducted.
    • Explain the MRI procedure to patients, addressing any questions or concerns to reduce anxiety.
    • Verify patient identity and screening criteria to ensure safety, including checking for implanted devices, allergies to contrast agents, or pregnancy.
  • Conducting MRI Scans:
    • Operate the MRI machine, adjusting settings (e.g., magnetic field, radiofrequency pulse) to obtain high-quality images as prescribed by physicians.
    • Position patients on the MRI table, ensuring they are comfortable and aligned to capture correct images while adhering to safety standards.
    • Administer contrast agents as prescribed by physicians to enhance image clarity, monitoring patients for adverse reactions.
  • Patient Safety and Comfort:
    • Ensure patient safety during the MRI procedure, particularly concerning strong magnetic fields, by verifying no ferrous or metal objects are present on the patient.
    • Maintain open communication with patients during scans, providing reassurance and instructions as needed to ensure comfort.
  • Post-Procedure Care:
    • Assist patients off the MRI table after procedures and ensure they are stable and comfortable.
    • Provide post-procedure instructions, including follow-up treatments, care for injection sites (if contrast agents were used), and other aftercare instructions.
  • Maintenance and Equipment Care:
    • Evaluate and maintain the MRI machine's calibration and functionality, performing basic maintenance and troubleshooting when necessary.
    • Clean and disinfect the MRI suite and equipment between patients to adhere to infection control protocols.

Requirements:

  • Advanced knowledge of MRI technology and patient safety protocols.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a healthcare team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $140,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. This is a 13-week contract, working 36 hours per week, with 12-hour shifts and tax-free stipend amounts to be determined.
