Job Summary

The Child and Family Therapist is a part-time position responsible for assessing the needs of clients and providing individual therapy, family therapy, support group, advocacy, and referral services to youth and their families. This role is part of the Southwest Youth & Family Services team, working with a diverse client group, including those enrolled in the Managed Care System.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide high-quality, culturally sensitive, strengths-based mental health services to youth and their families
* Maintain a required caseload and meet with clients on a regular basis, with an expected caseload of 10-13 clients
* Provide counseling services onsite at school or office, or via HIPAA-compliant telehealth
* Respond to new client referrals within 24 hours and perform comprehensive intake assessments
* Develop relevant, client-driven, strengths-based treatment plans within 30 days of intake
* Utilize appropriate therapeutic modalities to treat issues of concern and provide effective age and culturally competent services
* Maintain treatment records and reports in an accurate and timely manner according to contractual and agency standards
* Maintain confidentiality of records in accordance with HIPAA and other standards
* Work with referral sources, collateral contacts, etc. to enhance services to the client

Additional Responsibilities

* Attend case consultation and supervision, as well as Counseling Center team meetings and other meetings as required
* Maintain 100% contract compliance and promptly respond to phone calls and other inquiries from the community on behalf of the Counseling Center
* Participate in community activities that enhance support for our clients and/or agency
* Maintain current Washington State Department of Health credential and develop a plan for professional development in consultation with supervisor
* Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with clients, families, co-workers, and community resources

Requirements

* Minimum Qualifications: Demonstrate a commitment to equity and social justice, ability to work with diverse groups and cultures, MA/MS Degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or related field, and experience providing evidence-based therapies
* Preferred experience with Medicaid and ability to work as a team and independently
* Effective written and verbal communication skills, excellent follow-through, and ability to meet deadlines
* Must pass a Washington State Patrol Criminal Background Check and have a valid WA State Driver's license and reliable transportation
* Clear driving record with no more than two moving violations in the last three years and knowledge of and ability to learn required electronic health record programs
