Our team of experienced professionals and network of over 8,000 contract interpreters enable us to deliver high-quality services in more than 350 languages to over 6,000 clients.

We are currently seeking a skilled Onsite Spanish Interpreter to join our team in the Harrisonburg, Virginia area. The ideal candidate will have a passion for using their language skills to make a positive impact and a strong desire to work with diverse individuals and communities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide consecutive in-person and virtual interpretation services via phone and video remote.
  • Adhere to interpreter protocols and procedures as required by our clients.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA, FERPA, GLBA, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with patients, customers, and healthcare providers.
  • Continuously improve vocabulary and specialized subject matter knowledge to meet the needs of various clients.
Requirements:
  • Submission of an updated resume in English at the time of application.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Intermediate-level computer skills.
  • Access to reliable transportation.
  • Ability to provide documentation of updated vaccinations, including TB, MMR, Varicella, Hep B, TDAP, and Seasonal Influenza (Flu) and Covid.
  • Successful completion of a drug test and background check.
  • A signed commitment to confidentiality, ethics, and HIPAA compliance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of interpreting experience.
Propio's evaluation process conforms to interpreting standards defined by:
  • National Council on Interpreting in Health Care (NCIHC)
  • International Medical Interpreters Association (IMIA)
  • California Healthcare Interpreters Association (CHIA)
