About the Role

US Foods, Inc. is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining various diesel road equipment and vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with heavy equipment, including tractors, trailers, and lift gates
  • Perform preventative maintenance on all fleet vehicles, adhering to company standards
  • Complete documentation of repair orders, PM lists, and parts accountability
  • Handle road service calls and perform road rescue/transport equipment as needed
Requirements:
  • 3 years of commercial diesel mechanic experience or 2 years with refrigeration certification
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to work independently
  • Prior experience in administering PM programs and knowledge of EPA and OSHA regulations
  • Able to read and understand technical manuals, with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing organizational needs and work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends
