Job Description
This entry-level position provides overall coordination to ensure company goals are met for a particular operation(s) and client(s). You'll participate in contracting activities associated with independent contractors who provide delivery equipment and transport products from clients' locations to designated locations as requested by the customer.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Monitor routes to ensure all customers are covered, IC check-in is complete, and that routes run on time.
- Create routes according to customer requirements, ensuring that accepted dispatch provides delivery services and communicates changes to the dispatch department and ICs as needed.
- Track the dispatch board to ensure customer-requested delivery times are being met.
- Communicate any delays or problems to the customer and dispatch department.
- Evaluate ICs' vehicle types to ensure they match customer requests.
- Ensure compliance with IC login processes and EC-mobile.
- Work directly with ICs to address issues they encounter while under dispatch.
- Arrange for STAT coverage for customers when necessary.
- Restructure routes as requested by the customer to ensure on-time execution.
- Verify that ICs provide contracted delivery services in compliance with customer regulations.
- Assist in contracting ICs as needed.
- Complete daily service reports as required by the customer.
- Create and process administrative reports and paperwork as directed.
- FOLLOW UP WITH ICs TO ENSURE THEIR PAPERWORK IS UP TO DATE, AS NEEDED.
- Ensure ICs wear uniforms with visible ID badges, as required by customers for identification and security purposes.
Qualifications - Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- BASIC MS OFFICE PROGRAMS (OUTLOOK, EXCEL, AND WORD) EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.
- Proactive and resourceful; ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Independent judgment required to plan, prioritize, and organize competing tasks or demands that may be deadline-driven.
- Must maintain a valid driver's license and clean, functional vehicle.
- Ability to develop and maintain meaningful business relationships with customers.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion.
- Ability to work overtime as necessary.
Qualifications - Experience, Education, Certificates & Licenses:
- College degree or a high school diploma with equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred.
This role requires flexibility, with shift days Monday through Friday and shift hours from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM, with opportunities for extra hours, weekends, and holidays.
