Development Program Specialist, Cross Campus Initiatives

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Development Program Specialist to join our team at the Wisconsin Foundation and Alumni Association. As a key member of our Cross Campus Initiatives team, you will play a critical role in planning and executing development programs that advance our mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Donor and Campus Relations
    • Serve as primary liaison to campus partners, building mutually beneficial relationships and improving communication and collaborative teamwork.
    • Coordinate fund administration process, including creation, documentation, notification, review, and stewardship of unit funds.
    • Plan, implement, and manage events designed to identify and cultivate new prospects and build relationships with existing donors.
    • Actively participate in meetings and other activities with campus partners that support assigned unit development efforts.
  • Stewardship
    • Prepare gift, milestone, and other acknowledgements for assigned team members.
    • Coordinate and distribute routine gift reports.
    • Coordinate and manage the gift impact reporting.
  • Prospect Data Management
    • Pull BI self-service reports and work with unit prospect pool to assist directors of development in qualification and portfolio management.
    • Maintain contact updates, donor biographic information, and other constituent management duties.
  • Office Administration
    • Coordinate the direct mailing of solicitations, announcements, event invitations, and provide development support for advanced administrative needs.
    • Suggest areas for process improvement and assist in improvement implementation.
Requirements
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce preferred.
  • 1+ year(s) involvement in development, donor relations, stewardship, or related transferable experience.
  • Experience working in nonprofit or higher ed industry.
  • Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Self-directed, team player with a strong, results-oriented work ethic.
  • Ability to interact well with all internal and external constituents in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently, in addition to as a member of an effective development team.
  • Exhibits high-level aptitudes in managing multiple tasks, advanced office, and administrative management skills.
  • Keen attention to detail.
