Job Title: Mental Health Professional for Youth Substance Use Services

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Professional to join our team at Friends of Youth. In this critical role, you will provide substance use services to youth, young adults, and their families.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse populations in a culturally responsive manner. They will demonstrate a strong commitment to the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as a deep understanding of coping skills, crisis intervention, and supportive strategies for individuals experiencing homelessness and trauma.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions and services to youth and their families
  • Administer substance use assessments, provide individual, family, and group counseling sessions in accordance with ASAM level of care
  • Diagnose substance use conditions in accordance with the most recently published Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM)
  • Teach Alcohol and Drug Information School (ADIS) as needed
  • Provide case consultation, linkage, advocacy, and coordination of services to collateral contacts for assigned clients
Requirements:
  • Associate degree in a human-service field
  • Licensed with the State of Washington as a Substance Use Disorder Professional/Trainee
  • Fifty hours of SUDPT hours completed, preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of MS365 Power Platform
