Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Senior NPPD Engineer to join our team at Teel Plastics. This role will be responsible for developing new products, business opportunities, and processes that complement our manufacturing capabilities and strategic plans related to Extrusion.

Main Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with sales personnel to consult on estimated costing of new and improved products and develop business opportunities.
  • Design and implement extrusion tooling upgrades and modifications to existing and new products or processes.
  • Maintain regular contact with customers to define product requirements and provide technical assistance.
  • Develop and execute approved development efforts on time and in budget.
  • Interface with various departments, including Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Tool Room, Maintenance, and Facilities, and external suppliers.
  • Establish and maintain contacts with suppliers of equipment and materials to facilitate accomplishment of objectives.
  • Provide technical consultation to manufacturing on complex technical issues.
  • Provide strong leadership and supervision to ensure good morale and high productivity.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Polymer Engineering or a related field of study.
  • Strong technical skills with the ability to communicate effectively and accurately.
  • 5 or more years of experience in manufacturing or development with specific knowledge of the extrusion processes.
  • Ability to lead several projects at one time and communicate with suppliers, staff, and customers.
  • Broad understanding of polymers and manufacturing materials and their properties and processing requirements.
  • Creativity and stamina to push new products and processes to successful completion.
  • Ability to diagnose root causes of processing problems and implement steps to alleviate them.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
