Commercial Billing and Invoicing Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Billing and Invoicing Specialist to join our team at SERVPRO of Broome County, Tompkins & Tioga Counties. This role will be responsible for managing all aspects of billing and invoicing, ensuring timely and accurate payments from customers.

The ideal candidate will have excellent accounting skills, with experience in QuickBooks Pro and Microsoft Office. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential for success in this position.

• Billing: Prepare and finalize invoices to customers and insurance carriers, review and audit field documentation, communicate and monitor status of projects with project managers, create and submit final billing documentation for invoicing, provide financial and administrative support by invoicing jobs in all departments, maintain and update records of invoices and receipts for each job file, manage the entire process of initial job invoicing all the way through accounts receivables.
• Collections: Monitor all accounts receivable and identify overdue accounts, investigate historical data for debts and bills, contact customers to obtain payments, process payments and refunds, posting customer payments by recording checks, and credit card transactions, updating receivables by totaling unpaid invoices, maintaining records of invoices, debits, and credits, resolving collections by examining customer payment plans and payment history, keeping organized and detailed documentation of all correspondence with customers, handling customer disputes in regard to payments or invoicing, handling all Liens and documentation of such records, prepare and submit reports on collection activities and progress.

• 2+ years of experience with QuickBooks Pro (most recent versions)
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills, including listening and questioning skills
• Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
• Self-motivated and goal-oriented
• Ability to multi-task
• Capability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented office environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Ability to learn new software
• Associate Degree or higher
• 5+ Years Bookkeeping Experience

• A competitive salary range is $55,000 - $70,000 per year, based on experience.
• Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m – 5 p.m., additional time as needed.
