Job Title: Fuel Cell Integration Electrical Engineer

Honda is a leading innovator in the automotive industry, and we're seeking a talented Electrical Engineer to join our team. As a Fuel Cell Integration Electrical Engineer, you will play a critical role in the design, development, and integration of electrical systems associated with commercial and passenger vehicles, as well as other applications like stationary power generators and construction machinery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop electrical systems that interface with fuel cell technology, including power distribution, control systems, and energy management.
  • Integrate fuel cell systems with vehicle, stationary power generators, and construction machinery electrical architectures, ensuring compatibility and functionality.
  • Develop wiring harnesses, schematics, and layouts for the electrical integration of fuel cells.
  • Design and integrate power electronics systems, such as inverters, converters, and sensors, that work with fuel cell technology.
  • Optimize power flow and energy conversion efficiency between the fuel cell, battery, and vehicle systems.
  • Develop and execute electrical test plans to validate fuel cell systems under various operating conditions.
  • Analyze test data and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the integration process.
  • Work closely with testing teams to ensure compliance with safety and performance standards.
  • Coordinate with project teams, including suppliers and partners, to ensure timely and successful integration of fuel cell systems.
  • Monitor project timelines, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring milestones are met.
  • Document and report on technical findings and recommendations to management and stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical systems design and integration, preferably in fuel cell technology or electric vehicles (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience with power electronics, controls, and energy management systems.
  • Experience with fuel cell systems and their electrical integration requirements.
  • Proficiency in system integration and engineering principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, including power electronics, circuit design, and control systems.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Experience in the automotive or aerospace industry.
  • Knowledge of electric powertrains and hybrid systems.
  • Knowledge of high-voltage systems and safety protocols.
  • Familiarity with standards such as ISO 26262 (Functional Safety) and SAE J1772 (Charging Systems).
  • Familiarity with CAD tools for electrical design (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, Altium Designer).
