About the Role

The Reception Desk Attendant is a key member of our team, responsible for delivering exceptional customer service to members, guests, and prospects of the facility. This role ensures that everyone entering the Wellness Center receives a warm welcome and top-notch service, creating an inviting atmosphere.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee interactions at the service desk, including opening and closing procedures, answering phones, processing transactions, guest registration, and providing information about scheduled events, programming, and classes.
  • Promote and sell ancillary services such as personal training, massage therapy, and nutrition programs.
  • Schedule appointments, handle cancellations, and make reminder calls.
  • Familiarize yourself with check and credit card policies, as well as cash drawer procedures.
  • Maintain effective communication with all departments through radio and overhead announcements.
  • Strive to achieve high member service satisfaction scores, as determined by membership survey results.
  • Represent Humboldt Park Health in a positive and professional manner.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous customer service experience is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Exceptional listening and customer service skills are required; being social, outgoing, and friendly is a must.
  • Ability to remain composed and act appropriately in high-pressure situations.
  • Good physical health and strength, with the ability to stand for long periods and work without physical restrictions.
  • A passion for fitness, health, athletics, and wellness is necessary.
  • Proficiency in computer skills relevant to the job is required.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is mandatory.
  • Spanish language proficiency is a plus.
