Nurse Practitioner Labor Delivery Position in Midland Texas

Magnet Medical is a leading healthcare provider seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a challenging opportunity in Labor and Delivery. This role offers a unique chance to provide high-quality care to expectant mothers and newborns, working collaboratively with obstetricians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals.
Salary PackageThe estimated salary for this position is $$145,000 per year, based on 12-hour shifts and 36 hours of work per week. A tax-free stipend amount will be determined upon confirmation of the employment details.
Job OverviewThis RN Labor and Delivery position involves providing comprehensive care to women during labor, delivery, and the postpartum period. As a skilled nurse in this specialty, you will manage routine and high-risk pregnancies, monitor fetal and maternal well-being, and assist with deliveries.
ResponsibilitiesYour primary responsibilities will include:
- Labor Support and Monitoring: Monitor the progress of labor through regular assessment of contraction patterns, cervical dilation, fetal heart rate, and maternal vital signs. Administer medications, including epidurals, Pitocin, and pain relief options, as prescribed, and monitor their effects.
- Assisting with Delivery: Assist obstetricians or midwives during vaginal deliveries, including providing instrumentation assistance, suctioning, and other necessary actions during the birth. Participate in cesarean section procedures by ensuring the sterile field, assisting with the delivery process, and providing immediate newborn care after birth.
- Postpartum Care: Monitor the health and recovery of both the mother and the newborn in the immediate postpartum period, including assessing vital signs, bleeding, and uterine tone. Assist with breastfeeding support, including teaching proper latch techniques, positioning, and addressing any concerns related to infant care.
