About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and innovative Executive Director of College Advancement to join our team at the Coast Community College District. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive development programs to support the college's mission and goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement annual fund, corporate, and foundation relations, gift planning, endowment and capital campaigns, nonpublic grant writing, and alumni and constituent efforts.
  • Provide participatory support to the President, Foundation Board, and senior administration with regards to donor cultivation and resource development.
  • Prepare and implement general revenue development strategies and action plans by overseeing functions of specialized programs within the campus community.
  • Plan, organize, and perform a variety of activities to support campaign development, including organizing and applying resources, volunteers, Board members, and other methods to accomplish fundraising goals.
  • Cultivate contacts and establish and maintain a system for identifying and contacting current and potential donors and for soliciting support for foundation programs.
  • Prepare communications and other forms of recognition to acknowledge donors.
  • Develop deferred and planned giving programs, establishing the Foundation as a recognized source for estate planning.
  • Coordinate and direct the fund-raising activities for scholarship programs, working with other College offices to develop foundation-related grant programs.
  • Develop and cultivate community and business relationships for ongoing in-kind gifts, developing partnerships with community organizations, philanthropic groups, affiliates, and business organizations.
  • Oversee and participate in the development of marketing and promotional materials that support the College's advancement and fund-raising activities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing communications, journalism, business, or a related field and 8 years of progressive experience in a responsible fundraising and marketing role.
  • Or, any combination of education and experience which would provide the required equivalent qualifications for the position.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Valid licensure related to the position, such as Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) certification or Certified Specialist in Planned Giving (CPG).
  • Experience working in higher education and/or a non-profit/public agency.
Working Conditions
  • Work is performed indoors, and minimal safety considerations exist.
