We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Thoracic Surgery Step-down unit at the Cleveland Clinic. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work alongside passionate caregivers and provide patient-first healthcare in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Job Summary

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year of current acute care RN experience in a hospital setting, with a strong background in critical care and cardiovascular nursing. You will be responsible for providing direct nursing care to patients who have undergone thoracic surgery, including esophagectomies, thoracotomies, and hiatal hernia repairs. Your duties will include monitoring and recording patient conditions, administering medications, and performing bedside hand-off reports and daily rounds.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients in the Thoracic Surgery Step-down unit
  • Monitor and record patient conditions, including vital signs and medication administration
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
  • Perform bedside hand-off reports and daily rounds to ensure seamless patient care
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
Requirements
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Minimum one year of current acute care RN experience in a hospital setting
  • Strong background in critical care and cardiovascular nursing
