Nurse Practitioner

As a Registered Nurse in our Progressive Cardiac Care Unit, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care to patients with complex cardiac conditions. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide individualized care plans and interventions. Responsibilities
* Deliver care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
* Assess the patient
* Plan the care of the patient
* Intervene as appropriate
* Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions
* Incorporate age-specific safety/infection control measures into patient care
* Initiate action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
* Maintain continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers
* Cardiac Focused Care
* Management of various cardiac drips
Requirements
* Nursing Diploma required
* Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program required
* BSN preferred
* One-year experience as a registered nurse, or completion of an RN residency program required
* One-year strong Medical Telemetry experience in an Acute Care setting strongly preferred
* RN must practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act, serve as a role model, intra/interdisciplinary collaborator, and coordinator for quality patient care
* BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
* ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days of hire
