The United Farm Workers of America is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Farm Movement Coordinator to join our team in Madera, California.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic organization that advocates for farm workers' rights. As a Farm Movement Coordinator, you will play a key role in developing and executing operational plans to meet or exceed the needs of union members.
Key Responsibilities- Operational Planning: Develop and execute operational plans to achieve the UFW vision, using adopted management by results methods.
- Financial Management: Establish processes to identify and maximize financial resources and use technology to control costs.
- Membership Records: Design and implement procedures to maintain accurate information, including grievance, arbitration, and other membership records.
- Training and Development: Implement training models for worker boards and execute strategies that encourage effective problem-solving among staff, workers, and employers under contract.
- Membership Growth: Cultivate a philosophy of membership growth and participation by creating effective partnerships, communicating effectively, and empowering workers.
- Technology: Utilize cutting-edge technologies and databases to support organizational goals.
- Contract Negotiations: Identify ways the UFW can bring value to contract employers and renegotiate current contracts prior to expiration.
- Supervision: Supervise staff as needed.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED and equivalent experience; Associates Degree preferred but not necessary.
- Experience: Three (3) years' experience in contract organizing and representational organizing, including one (1) year experience in campaign management.
- Skills: Ability to design and implement creative and innovative strategies resulting in membership growth, proficiency with MS Office applications, and ability to speak, write, and read Spanish and English.
A competitive salary range of $65,560 - $70,000 per year, along with a comprehensive benefits package including family medical, dental, vision, pension, 401k, paid sick days, holidays, and vacations.
