About the Role

This is a critical position responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of state-owned equipment, including heavy machinery and vehicles. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of heavy and light-duty vehicle and equipment repair, as well as experience with hydraulics and diagnostic equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair electronic engine control systems, engine control modules, anti-lock brake systems, and medium and heavy-duty automatic transmission engine control modules.
  • Repair and maintain heavy equipment, including dump trucks, backhoes, and front-end loaders.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and service on vehicles and equipment.
  • Coordinate repair work for other agency vehicles and equipment.
  • Maintain repair or service records.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and 1+ year of experience, or Associate's degree and 3+ years of experience, or 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • Working knowledge of safety practices associated with heavy equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Extensive knowledge of heavy and light-duty vehicle and equipment repair.
  • Ability to repair all types of equipment required for highway maintenance activities.
  • Valid commercial driver's license or ability to obtain within 90 days.
