Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Medical Technologist to join our team at Bristol Hospital Inc. as a Per Diem Medical Laboratory Professional.

About the Role:

This is a per diem opportunity that requires a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with a strong background in medical technology. As a Medical Technologist, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of clinical laboratory tests and procedures, maintaining equipment, and ensuring quality control and instrument/test performance.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Performs clinical procedures by established protocols to provide accurate diagnosis data, including identifying and labeling samples and evaluating results.
  • Maintains a safe work environment by meeting regulatory standards and following Universal Precautions.
  • Rotates to various lab sections and performs clinical duties in a competent manner according to established procedures.
  • Routinely completes assigned work on time, completes STAT requests within defined turnaround times, and calls critical values and issues to healthcare providers.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a related field (e.g., Chemical, Physical, or Biological Sciences).
  • One year minimum experience in a clinical laboratory setting, preferably in Microbiology.
  • State/Federal mandated licensure or certification requirements include ASCP Certification (strongly preferred).
  • Bristol Hospital Mandated Educational Requirements: General orientation at time of hire, Fire/Safety/Infection Control annually, and other programs as mandated by Hospital.
Estimated Salary:

$55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience.

Work Environment:

The position requires walking, standing, sitting, bending, and lifting light objects less than 20 lbs. You may frequently be exposed to blood, body tissues, and/or fluids, chemical fumes, and hazardous waste materials. Proper PPE is supplied by the employer.
