Job Responsibilities

The Advanced Healthcare Specialist serves as an advanced practice nurse, providing primary and specialty healthcare services to patients across the lifespan. Working collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, the specialist delivers comprehensive care, promotes health education, and advocates for patient wellness.

  • In collaboration with the Chief of Neurology and faculty, assumes clinical responsibility for tasks performed within the Advanced Practitioner's scope of practice. This includes but is not limited to: taking patient histories, performing physical examinations, performing appropriate procedures (i.e., venipuncture, lumbar punctures, intramuscular injections, etc.), ordering appropriate diagnostic tests, establishing diagnosis and provide care and management for common conditions in Neurology adult patients.
  • The specialist may assist in the admission, transfer or discharge from the Health Care System.
  • Makes appropriate referrals to specialists and community agencies.
  • Participates in quality assurance and quality improvement programs.
  • Works within multidisciplinary teams to develop plans for patients and ensure their execution.
  • Supports the mission, vision, and philosophy of Dignity Health as evidenced by compliance with all organizational policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Minimum:

A Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited program for Nurse Practitioners is required.

A minimum of three years' clinical experience is necessary.

A compact state or Arizona RN license is mandatory, along with an Arizona Advance Practice Nurse license and a valid DEA registration.

American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification is also required.

Preferred qualifications include American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification.

Estimated Salary

The estimated salary for this position is between $51.66 and $86.79 per hour, based on location and level of experience.
