Job Summary:

The Senior Civil Engineering Professional will be responsible for overseeing various field-centric duties, including observing construction activities, testing material properties, and providing engineering consulting on complex projects. This role plays a crucial part in assisting our clients to successfully execute their projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Site Observations: Conduct detailed site reviews to assess construction progress, evaluate contractor adherence to project specifications, identify potential challenges, perform specialized tests on construction materials, analyze data and project information, and provide recommendations to help keep projects on track.
  2. Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing complex field observations, precise test results, and sophisticated analysis of construction processes.
  3. Mentorship: Provide guidance to junior staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  4. Problem-Solving: Use problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex construction challenges.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Technical Proficiency: Competency using computer operating systems and MS Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with clients, team members, and supervisors, conveying technical information clearly.
  • Organizational: Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, manage workloads, maintain accurate and detailed record-keeping skills, documenting field observations, safety concerns, and problem resolutions.
  • Interpersonal: Effective interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and team members, fostering positive working relationships, customer-centric approach to provide excellent service to clients, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed promptly and professionally.
  • Adaptability: Ability to understand and adapt to change and react productively to frequent interruptions and changing conditions.
  • Construction Knowledge: Basic construction competencies including ability to determine location from surface features and landmarks by interpretation from surveys, road maps, aerial photos, topographic maps, and geologic maps; understanding construction stakes set by others, and color markings of utility companies.
  • Technical Problem-Solving: Ability to handle complex technical problems in the field, utilizing critical thinking and logical reasoning.
  • Ethics: Demonstrates ethical conduct, maintaining confidentiality and ensuring safety and security in all aspects of work, strict adherence to safety protocols and guidelines, fostering a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to handle physical demands, such as lifting (up to 50lbs repetitively), walking on uneven ground frequently, and carrying equipment, working in various weather conditions, and traveling to different locations.

Salary:

$85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
