We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Per Diem Medical Office LPN to join our Float Team in Poughkeepsie, NY.
Job SummaryThis is an exciting opportunity to work with Nuvance Health Med Practice PC, providing primary medical care to patients as part of a dynamic team. As a Per Diem Medical Office LPN, you will play a vital role in assisting physicians and physician assistants in delivering high-quality patient care.
About the RoleThis per diem position offers flexible scheduling, with 8-hour shifts available between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. The hourly rate for this position is $33.40, with an additional $4/hour for float pool differential.
As a Per Diem Medical Office LPN, your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing materials, supplies, equipment, and patients for medical exams.
- Obtaining patient histories and basic medical data, such as vital signs, temperature, height, weight, vision, and chief complaint.
- Providing direct patient care, including ear irrigation, vaccinations, medications, wound care, and suture removal.
- Collecting, preparing, and analyzing patient specimens as directed by physicians or physician assistants.
- Instructing patients and families on preventive care, medication administration, test preparation, treatment progress monitoring, and symptom changes.
- Contacting patients by phone to provide follow-up information, test results, or physician instructions.
- Performing organizational responsibilities to achieve practice and quality improvement goals.
- Completing meaningful use requirements and fulfilling compliance responsibilities related to the position.
To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of starting.
- Licensed Practical Nurse licensure.
- Basic medical knowledge and terminology.
- Computer skills and data entry proficiency.
- Skilled in obtaining accurate patient vitals.
- Vaccine administration and medication preparation experience.
Candidates with the following qualifications are preferred:
- Minimum one year of experience in a similar role.
- Proficiency in multiple languages.
- Phlebotomy and EKG experience.
Applicants must meet the following education requirements:
- High School Graduate or Equivalent.
- Graduate of an accredited LPN program.
