This position is ideal for a working parent seeking a flexible schedule with consistent hours each week.

  • 1:1 Treatments

The Speech and Language Pathologist will evaluate and treat patients in accordance with physician orders, utilizing therapeutic procedures to address deficits in speech, language, hearing, swallowing, and cognition.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing patient information and evaluating its impact on the assessment and treatment process
  • Conducting and documenting thorough functional assessments of patients
  • Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans based on patient needs
  • Complying with evaluation, treatment, and documentation guidelines
  • Recording patient progress and revising treatment plans as needed
  • Orienting patients to program services and treatment procedures
  • Working with nursing staff, patients, and families to maximize patient use of functional abilities
  • Establishing and instructing patients and families in exercises and therapeutic procedures
  • Assisting in the referral process and maintaining current knowledge of community resources
  • Attending and participating in rehabilitation team conferences and other department meetings
  • Participating in the quality improvement process and responding to results of medical record audits, patient/referral source satisfaction surveys, safety activities, and regulatory requirements

The ideal candidate will possess a Master of Science degree in Speech/Language Pathology, current licensure/certification in the state of practice, and a minimum of one year of experience in geriatric rehabilitation.

Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as well as adequate computer skills to complete required job duties and computerized documentation.

The Speech Language Pathologist will be responsible for promoting the programs and services of Vertis Therapy through formal and informal interactions with the community.
