Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct and control daily operations to ensure the school is running according to GSS standard operating procedures.
  • Assist the General Manager and department managers in fulfilling all daily tasks.
  • Manage staff to ensure high productivity, excellent performance, and positive employee satisfaction.
  • Oversee employee engagement to maintain a high level of employee satisfaction and company culture.
  • Train and develop the aquatics department to provide superior swim instruction in accordance with GSS standards.
  • Interact with wet side staff on operational items, including class scheduling, student progress, and customer experience.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot proper pool chemistry and pump room operation.
  • Gain knowledge and experience in GSS pool operations to maintain a safe and sanitary swim environment.
  • Conduct evaluations and assessments of teachers and trainees.
  • Direct, train, and maintain the implementation of the Emergency Action Plan and all safety procedures.
  • Provide sales and marketing training to qualified sales staff.
  • Assist with purchasing and manage the retail and vending departments.
  • Train and oversee private party staff to ensure GSS standard operating procedures are maintained.
  • Manage social media, book water safety presentations, and build partnerships with local businesses.
  • Monitor email, voice messages, and social media for timely and appropriate responses.
  • Gain knowledge and experience in all technology platforms to achieve a high level of competence in bookings, class scheduling, reporting, and administrative functions.
  • Maintain current certifications and stay up-to-date professionally on the aquatics and management field.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, communications, or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience as a certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor, and/or childcare provider required.
  • Two or more years as a swimming instructor preferred.
  • Certified Pool Operator and Lifeguard Instructor certifications required.
Work Environment:

While performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to heat and humidity. Noise level is usually moderate.
