Job Summary:

Operates all MRI Scanners for the purpose of performing diagnostic exams according to physician orders, ensuring the safe and efficient flow of patients in this area and complete and accurate data entry in the RIS and PACS systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs Diagnostic magnetic resonance imaging of organs, organ systems, and blood flow studies.
  • Provides radiologists with images necessary to obtain diagnostic results, ensuring a comprehensive diagnostic report is available to referring physicians.
  • Orients physicians, residents, staff, and student technologists in objectives and applications of magnetic resonance imaging and safety.
  • Assists nursing staff in the area, such as witnessing medication administration and documenting in Pyxis.

Qualifications:

Requires completion of an AMA-approved program in Radiologic Technology or equivalent, which is normally acquired in a two-year college or technical school program. ARRT certified with current registration required, BLS CPR certification required, and MRI training program experience with clinical internship or one year of MRI experience.
