Job Summary

The Clinical Office Coordinator Registered Nurse will provide clinical support to patients and providers in a medical office setting. This role will coordinate clinical office activities, prioritize incoming phone calls, and provide support to Certified Nursing Assistants and Certified Medical Assistants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate clinical office activities under the direction of physicians and schedules of clinical staff
  • Prioritize incoming phone calls by assessing caller symptoms and advising on basic treatment or urging them to seek care in the office or emergency department
  • Exhibit effective communication and stay current with disease processes, outbreaks, and relevant information for staff
  • Complete required documentation consistent with the system used in the facility
  • Develop and train clinical staff
  • Perform various tasks for patients and providers, including triaging patients, taking patient vitals, obtaining medical information, charting, preparing exam rooms, and other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse with license eligible to practice in the state of North Carolina
  • Prefer two years of experience working in a physician's office
  • Ability to work independently, strong oral skills, good basic math skills, and be computer literate
  • BLS certification maintained
Physical and Environmental Requirements
  • Extended periods of walking, standing, bending, and stooping may be required
  • Ability to hear clearly and have visual acuity necessary for computer use
  • Ability to do repetitive work, keyboarding, and writing
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds
  • Ability to hear and distinguish heart, lung, and bowel sounds
