We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Community Outreach Coordinator to join our team at Community Lodgings Inc. in Alexandria, Virginia.

Job Overview

This part-time (afternoon and evening preferred) role will focus on engaging with the local community, collecting feedback, hosting resource information sessions, and empowering tenants to advocate for their rights and needs.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with tenants and community members. Experience working with limited English-proficient communities is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage actively with the local community through events, workshops, and meetings.
  • Collect feedback from residents on affordable housing issues and other resources needed in the community.
  • Host resource information sessions about concerns facing the community.
  • Work closely with tenants to organize them around common issues and empower them to advocate for their rights and needs.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Empathy and Compassion: Strong understanding of the challenges faced by low-income communities.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent listening and conflict resolution skills.
