Job Summary

The Assistant Nursing Manager coordinates, plans, organizes, implements, and monitors nursing care of adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients in accordance with departmental philosophy and objectives. This role facilitates communication and continuity of care for patients, accepting accountability for daily operations of their respective units when on duty.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides high-quality, safe, cost-effective, total nursing care to all patients utilizing the nursing process.
  • Assumes responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the need of the patient and family members.
  • Directs care according to established standards of safety, risk management, infection control, with the goal of discharging the patient with an optimum level of care provided.
  • Utilizes evidence-based practice in accordance with professional standards and adheres to the Florida State Nurse Practice Act.
  • Reviews orders/test results and documents care delivered accurately and timely in the electronic health record.

Requirements and Qualifications

Education

Minimum: Graduate of an RN Program

Preferred: BSN

Experience

Minimum: 1 year nursing experience in a unit of expertise

Preferred: Management experience

Certifications/Licenses/Registrations

  • Registered Nurse - licensed in the State of Florida
  • American Heart Association BLS, PALS & NRP required
