Job Description

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles (BBBSLA) is seeking a highly skilled professional to serve as the Enrollment & Match Support Specialist. This role plays a vital part in empowering youth by establishing enduring, professionally supported mentorship relationships for those facing adversity.

As a key member of the Site-Based team, you will provide case management services to children and youth (Littles), families, and mentors (Bigs) through regular telephone, electronic, and in-person contact. Your primary responsibility will be to facilitate the enrollment process of Bigs and Littles, conduct information sessions, interview applicants, write assessments, process applications, match mentoring pairs, conduct Live Scan fingerprinting, and perform administrative tasks.

This is a part-time, hybrid work position with a mix of virtual and in-office work. The position also requires travel for face-to-face meetings with corporate and school partners.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of up to 30 mentoring matches, ensuring regular school-based support interactions with volunteers, children, and parents/guardians through in-person, phone, or electronic communication.
  • Conduct enrollment processes, including interviews with guardians, youth, and volunteers, delivering youth safety education, and facilitating intake procedures.
  • Review enrollment information and assessments, providing recommendations for program participation based on collected data.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping in accordance with BBBSA guidelines, database requirements, the Service Delivery Model, and BBBSLA Program Manual.
  • Evaluate the specific needs of each match participant to support a positive youth development experience for the child and a fulfilling mentoring experience for the volunteer.
  • Apply expertise in child safety and risk management when working with children, youth, and families exposed to trauma, poverty, or other adverse circumstances.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree required. Master's Degree preferred (MSW, MFT, or social service field).
  • Possess working knowledge of local children's social support services and national/local reporting protocol or child abuse/child safety issues.
  • Must be able to develop/maintain effective partnerships/relationships with community constituents, youth and their families, corporate executives, non-profit groups, school officials, private individuals, and BBBSLA employees.
