Job Overview

The successful candidate will be an experienced Air Traffic Control Instructor II (En Route) with a strong background in air traffic control automation, simulation systems, and procedures. The position requires delivering high-quality classroom training and/or simulation laboratory instruction to various students, including developmental air traffic controllers and Certified Professional Controllers (CPC).

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver effective classroom and simulation laboratory training to meet the needs of the local facility and the FAA's overall Air Traffic Control mission.
  • Mentor students and Remote Pilot Operators (RPOs), as well as participate in curriculum design and development.
  • Ensure training services meet the requirements of the Jacksonville ARTCC and other FAA facilities.

This is a hands-on position that requires excellent technical skills, teaching abilities, and classroom management techniques.

Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of FAA CPC experience controlling live traffic or recent experience as a contract Instructor at an FAA facility.
  • A current ATC automation, simulation systems, and procedures certification.
  • A valid Instructor-II Simulation Laboratory Certification.

A bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred but not required. Experience working with ATC simulators and scenario design is highly desirable.
