The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner or PA will manage the treatment and care for patients in the practice setting, as well as at AdventHealth's eleven campuses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments to formulate accurate diagnoses
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based practices, psychopharmacology, and psychotherapeutic interventions
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, monitoring for efficacy and side effects
- Provide trauma-informed psychotherapy and counseling to individuals, families, and groups to address mental health challenges and promote resilience
- Collaborate effectively with our primary care providers, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare team members to ensure coordinated whole person care
- Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and strategies for managing and improving overall well-being
- Maintain accurate and timely EMR documentation
Requirements:
- Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
- Active BLS required
- DEA required
- Valid, current Florida Medical License
