Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at Penn State Health Hershey Medical Center. As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance, and maintenance repairs on a wide variety of mechanical equipment and devices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including inspections, repairs, and replacements of equipment and systems.
  • Respond to emergency situations and calls throughout the facility.
  • Perform minor electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry repairs required to maintain systems operation.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance staff to ensure efficient and effective maintenance operations.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure optimal equipment performance.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Mechanical training and 1 year hands-on job-related experience in repair of stationary or mobile equipment required.
  • Must have customer service skills and strong communication skills.
  • Must have a mechanical aptitude and computer knowledge.
  • Must be able to read, comprehend, and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Valid Driver's License required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Five (5) years experience in mechanical repairs, including electrical and plumbing trades is preferred.
  • Operation of tractors, forklifts, bucket trucks, high lifts, and other types of equipment preferred.
