At Corewell Health, we are dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care and outcomes. As a Phlebotomist I, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of laboratory testing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures to obtain adequate samples from patients, ensuring proper patient identification and specimen labeling.
- Support laboratory activities related to testing, including specimen collection, computer order entry, and specimen processing.
- Process functions to support laboratory services, including verification, accessioning, aliquoting, processing, and batching send-out testing.
- Adhere to compliance policies, including presenting Advance Beneficiary Notice (ABN) of non-coverage prior to delivery of outpatient services.
- Maintain department equipment and inventory to ensure proper supplies are available.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or phlebotomy course and phlebotomy externship preferred.
- Completion of a phlebotomy training program required; achievement of 50 draws within previous roles will be considered in lieu of a completed training program.
- 6 months experience preferred, dependent on assignment.
