Job Summary

The Infection Preventionist for Brigham and Women's Hospital and Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital is responsible for implementing infection prevention and control strategies to ensure a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This role requires a strong understanding of infection prevention and control principles, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement infection prevention and control plans to meet regulatory requirements and organizational objectives.
  • Conduct regular environmental rounds to identify and mitigate infection risks.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement evidence-based infection prevention and control practices.
  • Provide education and training to staff on infection prevention and control best practices.
  • Monitor and report on infection rates and trends to inform quality improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with regulatory agencies and public health authorities to ensure compliance with infection prevention and control regulations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as nursing, public health, or epidemiology.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in infection prevention and control, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Certification in infection control (CIC) preferred.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities. The Infection Preventionist must be able to work independently and as part of a team to achieve organizational objectives.
