The Infection Preventionist for Brigham and Women's Hospital and Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital is responsible for implementing infection prevention and control strategies to ensure a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This role requires a strong understanding of infection prevention and control principles, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement infection prevention and control plans to meet regulatory requirements and organizational objectives.
- Conduct regular environmental rounds to identify and mitigate infection risks.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement evidence-based infection prevention and control practices.
- Provide education and training to staff on infection prevention and control best practices.
- Monitor and report on infection rates and trends to inform quality improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with regulatory agencies and public health authorities to ensure compliance with infection prevention and control regulations.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as nursing, public health, or epidemiology.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in infection prevention and control, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Certification in infection control (CIC) preferred.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities. The Infection Preventionist must be able to work independently and as part of a team to achieve organizational objectives.
