About This Opportunity:

Piedmont Metals of Burlington is seeking a highly skilled HR Generalist to join our team. As an integral member of our organization, you will be responsible for managing the entire employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to benefits administration and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment & Onboarding:
    • Lead the recruitment process, including job postings, resume screening, interviews, and new hire orientations.
    • Foster a positive work environment by ensuring all new hires are properly onboarded and integrated into the company culture.
    • Oversee the full employee lifecycle, from hiring to separation, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with labor laws.
  • Employee Relations:
    • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries, addressing concerns, resolving conflicts, and promoting a positive work environment.
    • Support managers in performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and documentation, fostering a culture of open communication and respect.
  • Benefits Administration:
    • Coordinate and administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, 401K, and other perks.
    • Act as a liaison between employees and benefits providers, resolving issues and providing support during open enrollment.
  • Payroll Administration:
    • Manage full-cycle payroll operations, collecting time worked, PTO, holidays, overtime, and other specific labor allocation reporting.
    • Maintain familiarity with tax filing and multi-location experience, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • HR Compliance:
    • Ensure all locations adhere to federal, state, and local labor laws, maintaining accurate and confidential employee records.
    • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Training & Development:
    • Identify training needs and develop programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement through targeted training initiatives.
  • HRIS & Reporting:
    • Manage and update employee data in the HRIS system, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
    • Generate and analyze HR-related reports, including turnover, absenteeism, and diversity metrics.
  • Policy Development:
    • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement HR policies and procedures.
    • Ensure employees understand and comply with company policies, promoting a culture of respect and adherence.

About You:

To succeed in this role, you should possess a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, coupled with 2-5 years of experience in a similar HR position. Proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is essential. A strong interpersonal and communication skillset, combined with knowledge of HR best practices and legal compliance, will serve you well in this dynamic role.

Benefits Package:

Piedmont Metals of Burlington offers a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
