Job Description:

Houston Methodist is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team as a Registered Nurse PRN. As a member of our nursing staff, you will provide exceptional patient care and work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, compassionate care.

About the Job:

As a Registered Nurse PRN at Houston Methodist, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where you can utilize your skills and experience to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients. Your primary responsibilities will include providing direct patient care, conducting nursing assessments, assisting with exams and treatment, and maintaining accurate medical records. You will also have the opportunity to participate in shared governance initiatives, serve as a charge nurse or preceptor, and contribute to service line or hospital-wide initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough nursing assessments to identify patient needs and develop individualized care plans
  • Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing procedures, and managing emergencies
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including documentation of patient progress and treatment outcomes
  • Participate in shared governance initiatives, including unit-based scorecards and quality improvement projects
  • Serve as a charge nurse or preceptor to students or new employees
  • Contribute to service line or hospital-wide initiatives, including quality improvement projects and education programs

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from an accredited institution and hold a current RN license in Texas or a Compact State. Additionally, you should have at least two years of experience as a registered nurse in a healthcare setting. A Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and other credentials and certifications as defined by unit/service line are also required. Preferred qualifications include Magnet certification and proficiency in Microsoft products, including Outlook.

$85,000 - $110,000 per year
