We are seeking a part-time faculty member to teach introductory engineering courses at Tacoma Community College. As an instructor, you will be responsible for preparing and teaching students in parametric solid modeling using SolidWorks software, hand-drawing as a tool for visualization, and other freshmen and sophomore transfer engineering courses.
About the Position- This is a part-time faculty position contracted on a quarterly basis with opportunities for professional growth and development.
- The successful candidate will have a Master's degree in engineering or a closely related field from an accredited college or university, or comparable professional credentials.
- Experience teaching college-level engineering courses is preferred.
- Prepare and teach introductory engineering courses, including parametric solid modeling and hand-drawing.
- Mentor student teams and evaluate student work.
- Interface with clients regarding service learning projects.
- A Master's degree in engineering or a closely related field from an accredited college or university, or comparable professional credentials.
- Experience teaching college-level engineering courses is preferred.
The salary range for this position is $1,208.89 to $1,422.22 per credit hour, with opportunities for additional compensation based on experience and qualifications. Part-time faculty may also be eligible for healthcare and retirement benefits after completing two consecutive quarters of half-time or more employment.
