Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Control Systems Design Engineer to join our team at Olsson. As a key member of our industrial team, you will be responsible for designing instrumentation and control systems for various industries, including datacenters, water/wastewater, thermal energy, oil & gas, and industrial.

Your primary role will be to design, specify, and implement control systems, including the selection and specification of process instrumentation, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human Machine Interface (HMI) equipment, and networking components. You will also be responsible for developing control system sequences of operations, reviewing submittals, and conducting field inspections.

In addition to your technical expertise, you will have strong communication skills and be able to work collaboratively with other engineering disciplines, teams, subconsultants, clients, vendors, and contractors. You will also have a passion for using your talents to positively affect communities and be committed to delivering high-quality work.

As a Control Systems Design Engineer at Olsson, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including ethanol plant improvements, renewable natural gas plant greenfield designs, and ag-industrial process facility designs. Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in control systems design and implementation
  • Professional engineering license preferred
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to contribute to and work well on a team
