Maintenance Mechanic 3 Position

Renton Technical College is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic 3 to join our Facilities team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on college facilities, equipment, and systems. This is a full-time, classified position that requires a strong background in building and equipment maintenance, construction, or repair work.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on college facilities, equipment, and systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot system failures and take corrective action.
- Perform scheduled maintenance on control systems and equipment.
- Maintain equipment service and maintenance schedules.
- Perform preventive maintenance on various equipment, including compressors, valves, pumps, water heaters, and air handling units.
- Assist in the daily inspection of campus facilities for emergent repair needs.
- Perform classroom/lab renovations to facilities as educational needs change.
- Maintain two-way communication during assigned work duties.
- Completion of a recognized apprenticeship in a skilled mechanic trade and one year of work experience in building and equipment maintenance, construction, or repair work.
- Ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and diagnose all building maintenance systems and equipment.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly, climb ladders to heights of 20 feet, and be on your feet for an 8-hour shift.
- Ability to work overhead, from ladders, and in confined spaces for extended periods of time.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
