Based on your passion for precision and dedication to quality, we invite you to join our team as a Sterilization Specialist. This is a full-time position with 40 hours per week, offering an hourly salary range of $17.50 - $24.63 per hour (hiring range). The standard work schedule is variable, and the location is Raleigh, North Carolina.

Job Description

  • Assembly and Preparation: You will assemble baskets of instruments, basin sets, and equipment using appropriate checklists and prepare them for sterilization.
  • Supply Management: Monitor and maintain adequate levels of supplies, instruments, and equipment to ensure seamless operations.
  • Decontamination and Cleaning: Decontaminate, disinfect, and thoroughly clean supplies, instruments, and equipment used in various clinical settings.
  • Distribution and Maintenance: Distribute instruments, equipment, and supplies to designated locations and monitor equipment for malfunctions, making minor repairs when necessary.
  • Reprocessing and Maintenance: Demonstrate proficiency in reprocessing and maintenance of endoscopes and other endoscopic equipment according to high-level disinfection policy and manufacturer instructions.
  • Data Recording: Accurately record data in appropriate logs to maintain accurate records.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • No experience or education requirements, but a nine-month experience as a sterile tech may be required for positions located at UNC Medical Center or Rex Hospital.
  • No licensure or certification needed, but knowledge of instrument and equipment IFUs and processes is essential.
