St. Mary's University is seeking a skilled Development Fundraiser to join its team.

About the Job

This role involves initiating and managing relationships with alumni, foundations, corporations, and other constituencies to secure funding for the university.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward prospects among Rattler Nation members, alumni groups, and friends.
  • Hold face-to-face appointments with alumni and friends to discuss gift revenue opportunities.
  • Work closely with Athletics to support fundraising events, including annual golf tournaments.
  • Execute plans to maximize resource flow from alumni and friends, with a focus on major gifts.
  • Coordinate with leadership in academic areas to develop and increase philanthropic investments in annual and campaign funding priorities.
  • Participate in functions with students, faculty, alumni, and friends to foster relationships and build trust.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university required.
  • 3 years of experience in development activities and organizational fundraising or related fund activities; preferably documented success in major gift fundraising/closing.
  • Must clear and maintain a favorable background investigation and clearance.
  • Valid driver's license, motor vehicle liability insurance, and personal injury insurance required; or self-reliant source of transportation for daily business needs.
  • Ability to travel and work extended hours or weekends during peak times and for special programs, projects, and events.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office and Office 365 (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint) required, including experience with virtual platforms like Zoom.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations, the university community, and the public.
  • High level of attention to detail and responsiveness to the needs of others.
  • Ability to design, plan, and coordinate fundraising activities and special events.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
