We offer community-based violence prevention programs, alternatives to incarceration, reentry initiatives, and court-based initiatives that reduce unnecessary incarceration and promote positive individual and family transformation.

About the RoleWe are seeking five dedicated mentors for our Arches Program in the Queens Community Justice Center - The Rockaways. As a mentor, you will facilitate group mentoring and interactive journaling sessions for participants aged 16-24 on probation. Your role will be pivotal in empowering these young adults to achieve their Individual Achievement Plan goals set by DOP probation officers.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Facilitating Interactive Journaling sessions focused on skill development and goal setting;
- Providing one-on-one mentoring support to participants;
- Collaborating with the Program Coordinator to organize and facilitate a mentor support group;
- Ensuring thorough and accurate file-keeping and reporting on progress and compliance of participants;
- Inputting data to ensure proper tracking of clients and measuring program success;
- Participating in regular staff and team meetings to coordinate program needs and objectives;
- Assisting in special events and collaborating on larger QCJC-TR projects as necessary;
- Performing other duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator;
This position requires a flexible schedule with regular evening and weekend hours. We're looking for a personable and creative self-starter who can accomplish tasks in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience with positive youth development, motivational interviewing, and cognitive behavioral therapies is preferred.
