Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Representative to join our team at Essentia Health. As a Patient Access Representative, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth registration process for our patients, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient information.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interview patients to obtain demographic details, financial information, and minimum health information to ensure appropriate care provision.
  • Obtain copies of insurance cards and other forms of identification, and update patient information in the medical record as necessary.
  • Perform point of service data collection, including identifying and collecting patient co-payments and down payments, reconciling the cash drawer, and reporting daily deposit records associated with the collection of co-payments to ensure accurate accounting of revenue.
  • Maintain all assigned work queues according to supervisor's instructions and guidance.
  • Interact positively and in a caring manner with patients, co-workers, and others to provide highest level of customer service.
  • Answer incoming phone calls, schedule appointments, and refer to clinical team as needed.
  • Sanitize registration equipment between each use and restock basic supplies.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous Patient Access Representative or Patient Scheduler experience preferred.
