Job Summary

The Performance Improvement Consultant is responsible for facilitating sophisticated performance improvement activities and supporting large, cross-functional process improvement teams to achieve the organization's mission and goals and to ensure compliance with accreditation, licensing and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate performance improvement activities and support cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals.
  • Compile and create graphical displays of data, develop presentations, and employ project management skills to ensure goals are achieved within specified timeframes.
  • Apply knowledge and understanding of advanced qualitative and quantitative statistics to synthesize data and extract key insights on human factors.
  • Assure integrity of data sets and data elements through routine and systematic procedures.
  • Develop alternative solutions to overcome data limitations.
  • Apply a broad range of performance improvement tools and methodologies (e.g. Lean and Six Sigma), and problem-solving techniques to see opportunities for improvement and facilitate change.
  • Support health system monitoring efforts and management of dashboards.
  • Provide concise reports of activities and results to support decision-making for a variety of performance improvement projects.
  • Regularly communicate and provide program/project updates to project teams.
  • Identify key touch points for stakeholder/organizational communication and communicate verbally and in writing to a variety of audiences internally and externally.
  • Prepare and present reports to all levels of health system employees, medical staff members, and senior management.
  • Create and update project work plans, prioritize work, and manage multiple project teams to meet key results, timelines, and budgets.
  • Proactively identify potential project barriers and delays, and manage competing priorities and relationships with stakeholders, champions, and executive sponsors to resolve issues.
  • Quickly acquire subject knowledge expertise by researching standard methodologies and regulatory guidelines from a variety of sources.
  • Conduct just-in-time and planned training (e.g. Safety Fair and NEO) to educate members of interdisciplinary improvement teams on performance improvement methods and tools to enhance their ability to achieve performance improvement goals.
Requirements
  • Two (2) plus years of experience in the application of process improvement, statistical process control methodologies, and independent facilitation of process improvement teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and work collaboratively and independently.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field.
