Job Summary:

As a Material Handler I at Sumitomo Machinery Corp of America, you will be responsible for loading, unloading, moving, and stocking materials in our distribution center. This is a critical role that requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and a commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Receive, unpack, check, and store merchandise or materials
Fill requisitions and orders
Pack, crate, and ship products and materials to departments, or assembly lines
Drive forklift, turret, order picker, WAV (walk assist vehicle) or use pallet jacket to move bulk product to the proper destination point

Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent
One (1) year of material handling experience
General knowledge of warehouse procedures

Work Environment:

This role is performed in an industrial environment. You will be constantly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, twist, bend, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. You must be able to lift, carry, move, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds. You will be frequently required to walk. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. You will be constantly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. You may be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud. This position is designated as safety-sensitive.
