Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Support Specialist to join our team at our plasma center in Camp Hill, PA. As a Medical Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our donors, while also providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Determine donor eligibility accurately and in a timely manner, including proper management of informed consent, AIDS education, and confidential self-exclusion.
  • Evaluate and manage donor reactions, which occur at the facility, as outlined in our Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Manage donor deferral, reviewing test results and notifying donors of unsuitable test results per applicable SOPs.
  • Initiate and investigate Post Donation Information (PDI) and refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when necessary.
  • Assist the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) program as required, including conducting pre-placement evaluations of new hires and maintaining employee medical records.
Requirements:
  • Currently licensed or certified in the state where duties will be assigned.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification required.
  • Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
  • Minimum of two years in a clinical or hospital setting preferred.
