We are seeking a skilled Healthcare Support Specialist to join our team at Intermountain Health in Denver, CO. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary of $23.55 per hour.

About the Job

This role involves providing high-quality patient care and support in an ambulatory clinic setting. As a Healthcare Support Specialist, you will be responsible for performing general administrative tasks, preparing patients for healthcare providers, and maintaining a positive and caring attitude.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performing general administrative tasks, such as scheduling patients and coordinating care
  • Greeting and preparing patients for healthcare providers while maintaining a positive and caring attitude
  • Providing patient safety and protection of patient privacy rights by observing HIPAA regulations
  • Obtaining and recording patient information, vital signs, height, weight, allergies, current medications, medical history, and chief complaint
  • Assisting with routine tests, including EKGs, hearing, and vision screens
  • Scheduling patients for diagnostic testing and follow-up appointments as necessary
  • Communicating test results to patients and establishing a plan of care by phone or mail as directed by the healthcare provider
  • Maintaining accurate records of patient plans, tests, and examination results in the medical record
  • Preparing, cleaning, and sterilizing instruments and equipment; stocking patient exam rooms while maintaining cleanliness and organization

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Current BLS certification required upon hire or within 60 days of hire
  • Three months previous experience in a healthcare setting required
  • Ability to successfully function in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and accuracy required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
  • Successful completion of an Accredited National Certification Exam for Certified Medical Assistants (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred
  • One year Medical Assistant experience preferred
