**Job Summary:**

The Logistics Yard Driver will be responsible for safely moving and staging trailers within the Distribution Center yard, as well as transporting them to and from local offsite lots or trailers left on public streets.

Main Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities:

• Safely move trailers to and from shipping and receiving doors, as well as designated parking areas within the yard.
• Drive a tractor-trailer within the yard or short distances outside, adhering to commercial driving regulations and demonstrating skill in maneuvering on roads and company premises.
• Ensure yard safety and compliance regulations are upheld, monitoring activity in the yard and at the gate.
• Perform pre- and post-trip safety checks, inspecting the tractor, truck, and trailer according to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
• Report any safety issues or required repairs, and take appropriate action to maintain a safe working environment.
• Adhere to DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines, immediately reporting any safety hazards.
• Ensure the tractor, trailer, and freight are properly locked and secured at all times.
• Perform general housekeeping duties in the loading dock area and keep trailers clear and clean.
• May be required to perform other warehouse duties as needed.

Nature and Scope:

This role involves complex problems that will be referred to a supervisor, with some judgment exercised under general supervision in accordance with well-defined policies, procedures, and techniques. Work will typically involve regular review of output by a senior coworker or supervisor.

Work Environment:

This position will be located in a comfortable environment with regular exposure to factors that may cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness, such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noises, and fumes.

Requires intermittent periods of continuous physical exertion, including walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting, and maneuvering material or equipment that may be heavy (50+ pounds) or awkward.

Typical Travel Requirements:

Overnight travel is less than 10% of the time.

Education and Experience:

A High School Diploma or GED is strongly preferred, and specialized skills training/certification may be required. Typically, 2-5 years of experience in the relevant field are required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience driving commercial vehicles.
• Experience with moving trailers.

A current Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) issued by the state in which the candidate resides, along with all relevant endorsements required for the type of equipment being operated, is mandatory.

A clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) for the past 3 years is also required.

Salary: $23.50-$32.80 Hourly
